2023 CHS Prom Grand March Video: https://youtu.be/mUPSfqGYpWg

Good Morning Cub Nation,
This is a follow up message from this morning’s disruption of our school day. In conjunction with the Chamberlain Police Department and the Brule County Sheriff’s office, CSD was able to identify the source of the Snapchat message. After interviewing several individuals, it was found that the message originated from an individual out of our school district. Further investigation found that the media used in the message is from an incident in New Mexico in 2018.
School District’s across the Midwest with “CHS” as their acronym have experienced similar situations this week and many have had to cancel classes. All of these incidents are related to this viral posting.
The Chamberlain School District, local, and regional police all take these threats seriously. Parents, please have a conversation with your children about what to do when they are sent messages with threats in them. Sharing the message out again through social media, text, or any other platform will have legal consequences and in-district consequences. Instead of sharing it with friends, inform a parent or adult so that swift action can be taken to prevent any disasters.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 605-234-4477.
Regards,
Dr. Justin Zajic
Superintendent of Schools
Chamberlain School District

With Mother Nature taking 2 in-person school days this week and midterms falling this week, the track team will NOT be going to the DWU indoor meet tomorrow. The plan is to attend the Wagner outdoor meet on Tuesday April 11. Hopefully Mother Nature start working with us.
